During the town hall that was in place of the second presidential debate, the moderator, George Stephanopoulos, asked Joe Biden what he thought about fracking. He said that, as president, he would not ban fracking.
Then the Democratic nominee claimed that the Boilermakers Union had endorsed him for president. That union represents thousands and thousands of American workers. Biden said, “I’m telling the Boilermakers overwhelmingly endorse me me, OK, so the Boilermakers Union has endorsed me because I sat down with them and went into great detail earlier to show heir leadership exactly what I would do, number one.”
But John Hughes, leader of Boilmakers 154 Local, is calling him out for lying.
He said, “The other day I’m watching the debate and I see Joe Biden tell everybody that the Boilermakers endorsed him and that is not true. And I would like somebody to tell me who – he said he talked to somebody – I’d like to know who he talked to in the Boilermakers because anybody I talk to did not endorse him.”
Hughes continued on, “And I believe if you go onto our International [Boilermakers] website we have not endorsed a candidate this round, nor did the International Boilermakers endorse a candidate last time. We did not endorse Obama and Joe Biden last time because of their energy issues.”
A Louisiana Representative, Lou Barletta, also called Biden out for his lies. He said, “I couldn’t believe it when Joe Biden blatantly lied at a town hall right here in Pennsylvania and said he was overwhelmingly endorsed by the Boilermakers.”
In addition to the Boilermakers never endorsing Biden, the Local 154 did however endorse President Trump.
